IVF- egg retrieval

Yesterday we had egg retrieval!!! We found out in Oct that we would have to do IVF to have a baby. We are well on our way in that process. We drive to Pleasant Grove and our doctor is at the Utah Fertility Center there. Dr. Foulk. We are very excited for the future and hope to get pregnant from this cycle. I have a blog completely dedicated to infertility so if you want to read more about our IVF journey click here danggina1.blogspot.com

Gavin got to move to a bigger and better building for work!! He is pretty excited about it. His company is continuing to grow. Tonight there is going to be an open house and I am excited to see the finished building. It has glass walls and many many windows. I think it will be such a better place for him to spend his days programming away at the computer. His work treats him really well and we are so blessed he has such a great job that he loves. He will be just on the other side of the hill from my work. He programs a website called busybusy.com  Its a website tool for contractors but anyone can use it. Check it out. Its pretty sweet. I am a scrub tech at Dixie Regional Hospital. I love assisting in surgery. I have thought a lot about going to nursing school but Im just not ready to give up my job. Also since we are majorly pursuing having a baby right now I don't want to occur debt from school. I think later on I will go to nursing school. We'll see. Right now Gavin and I are both enjoying being done with school and working in our professions.

Fevers make you miserable

This weekend we were supposed to be going to our family Christmas party at my dads, well instead we decided it would be funner to get the flu and fun stuff like that! I used to think the flu was no big deal. When people tell you they have the flu or the cold you don't really think much of it because it is so common. BUT it really does put you out. Gavin text me on Thursday saying he wasn't feeling well. He went home early from work. I got off around 7 pm and came home to a sick hubby. He had a deep cough and muscle aches. That night he woke up at 3 in the morning with an excruciating headache and coughing really bad. I gave him some excedrin for the headache and he went back to sleep around 4 am. I had to get up at 6 for my infertility shots. I gave myself my first shot which was not as scary as I thought it would be. The last couple weeks Gavin has been giving me the shots but he was way too out of it. That morning was also the first day of more shots. Shots I had to mix the powder with sodium chloride. This new shot was bigger and I didn't want to attempt to give it to myself. I text my friend Laura who is a nurse and told her I was on my way to work so she could give me my shot. She told me she would meet me in the locker room. I brought all the stuff with me. We mixed all the shots and it seemed like A LOT of fluid to put into my belly. Then I realized something! I mixed TOO MUCH fluid with the powder. I was pretty upset with myself and called the on-call nurse. She told me to inject all of it into my belly and that it would hurt and suck today but tomorrow only mix 1 ml of fluid with all four powders. I mixed 2 ml of fluid for EACH powder. So I had 9 ml fluid extra! URG! I was so mad at myself! OUCH! So Laura had to inject ALL of it into my poor belly really slow. It hurt SOOO bad. My friend Jess was there to hold my hand and wipe my tears too. I was extra grateful for my friends that morning. No way I could have done that by myself. I had a couple errands to run so it was around 9 before I got home.  When I got back Gavin was still in bed but he was burning up. I gave him some tylenol to bring his fever down. It worked for just a little bit but then he started burning up again. I decided to take him to the doctor. We got to the instacare about 4pm and had an HOUR wait time. Poor Gavin was sooo uncomfortable, I had him go sleep in the car while I waited. By the time we got back to see the doctor he was MISERABLE. The nurse took his temperature and it was 103! I knew my thermometer wasn't working right, it was reading 99, 97, 98. But I knew his temperature was higher than that. She got him some apple juice and Ibuprofen while we were waiting to see the doctor. Gavin made me cry because he started crying a little from all the pain he was in. The doctor gave him a couple prescriptions and sent us on our way. Gavin couldn't wait to get home to lay down. I dropped him off and then went to pick up his prescriptions and some Gatorade, apple juice, and some groceries. It took forever to figure out the insurance and I had to be on the phone for almost an hour. Which in the end the insurance only took off a few dollars and I still had to pay 137 dollars!!!! After I finally got the meds paid for the pharmacist explained how to take the meds and then went on to tell me they had a patient die already this year from the FLU! A younger patient too. As I was leaving I just started crying(Ya the fertility drugs may have influenced this). Once I got into the car I called Gavin to see if he was okay. I was so worried about him. Ever since I told him my worries he keeps giving me a hard time that I was worried he was gonna die. But seriously it still is freaking me out just a little because he is STILL sick. I don't think I have ever seen him this sick. Poor Gav. THEN when I was looking on Facebook I read that 13 people have already died this year in North Carolina. Ahhh. Im pretty sure its from H1N1 but it is still really scary. So I give Gavin meds every 4 hours. He feels better but only because of the drugs. I also have been making him take a bunch of Balance of Nature so he gets all his servings of Fruits and Veggies and will get better faster! Today is Sunday and he is still sick. Now Im starting to get a headache and sore throat. Hopefully I don't get the flu too! This is not a good time for me to get sick. Ive been washing my hands a lot. Lysoling everything, washed all the laundry in the house and towels and blankets he has been using. Im trying to keep from getting sick. A girl can hope. I just really want my happy healthy Gavin back. We have been together for the last 3 days straight mostly watching movies and sleeping but he isn't himself. Cant wait til he feels better. I enjoy taking care of him and am glad I have been home to do so. Im sad I didn't get to go to my dads this weekend and play games with my siblings and everyone. They had a fun weekend and I hope we can get together again soon since I missed out. I also realized after this weekend I need to buy a better thermometer. I figure I will need a good one for when I have babies anyways so thinking about going out and buying one of the ones you wipe across your forehead. If you get the flu I suggest you rotate tylenol and ibuprofen every four hours to keep your temp down so you aren't miserable and drink LOTS of fluids!!! AND take lots of Balance of Nature!! Eat your fruits and veggies! Love you all and I hope you stay well this season.

Met the love of my life One year ago

The other night Gavin and I decided to watch the video made for our wedding. It brought back good memories and I thought I would share it with all of you! :) Gavin and I celebrated knowing each other for one year yesterday. Which happens to be his mom's birthday. It is a very special day for us. To celebrate we went and ate at Bear Paw, we had banana and apple spice Belgian waffles and our favorite drink, dreamcicle! After that we ran some errands, Gavin took a history test and then we shared a pasta bowl from domino's. Yummy! We watched some last comic standing and America's most wanted (kind of gives me nightmares). Then we met up with Gavin's parents and Mekynzie. We had a really good chef salad that dad made for dinner. Gina (Peterson) and Gracie came over and then we loaded a bag with goodies and headed off for TARZAN!

Tarzan was sooo fun! I think Gavin appreciated the drums the most and Mekynzie appreciated TARZAN! haha I loved the music and dancing. Especially the apes! It was really fun to watch. ONE disappointment. Jane never said..."And daddy.. I lost my boot!" Kenz and I were waiting for it! But it never came. Besides that the show was great! The vocals were amazing and the people I was with were family. It doesn't get much better than that!

I love the Temples

"Come to the temples worthily and regularly. Not only do you bless those who are deceased, but you may freely partake of the promised personal revelation that may bless your life with power, knowledge, light, beauty, and truth from on high, which will guide you and your posterity to eternal life. What person would not want these blessings, as expressed by the Prophet Joseph Smith at the dedication of the Kirtland Temple. He said: "We ask thee, holy Father, that thy servants may go forth from this house armed with thy power, and that thy name may be upon them, and thy glory be round about them, and thine angels have charge over them." (D&C 109:22.)
-David B. Haight

I was married in the St. George temple on Dec. 19th, 2009. I am so grateful for the knowledge I have that because I have been married in the temple I can live with my husband forever and when I have children I will have them forever. I am so grateful for temples and the blessings I receive from my Heavenly Father when I attend the temple. Our Heavenly Father is always just waiting to bless us. When we do what is right we are blessed immensely. Maybe not immediately but we will be blessed in the eternities if not now.

Gavin and I got to go through the Manti Temple last week because we went up there for the Manti Pageant. My ancestors helped build the Manti Temple so it was very special for me. The Manti Temple is sooooo beautiful!!! I love it! The pageant was amazing. I used to go all the time when I was growing up so it was fun to go relive those memories and actually understand the stories more this time. I love the spirit you feel as you learn about how the gospel was restored and about Joseph Smith.

I had the opportunity to go to Japan for 10 days with my best friend Alexa Stout. That was such an amazing trip! While we were there we were able to go to the Tokyo, Japan temple. It was very fun and I had no idea what anybody was saying. But the spirit I felt was the same.
